The hills are alive with Fall’s richest colors at this warm vintage-inspired celebration
Rachel and Charles knew what they wanted: A warm, intimate wedding that would welcome their family and friends as well as the beginning of Autumn in the mountains of Malibu. The couple planned every detail themselves, including designing their own invitations, and drew on the natural beauty of their location for inspiration. The pics are by the talented Laura Grier of Beautiful Day Photography, who never ceases to amaze us with her keen eye for detail, color, and composition.

Charles and Rachel chose vintage wedding rings. Look how lovely and delicate Rachel’s pave diamond band is! Oh, and the shoes? Blahnik. Manolo Blahnik.

The ceremony and reception were held in a private residence at the top of a mountain in Malibu, California. Gorgeous!

Rachel wore her grandmother’s pearl choker as her “something old”, her mother’s pearl bracelet as her “something borrowed”, and a stunning vintage-inspired Vera Wang wedding dress. Below, the bride gets a kiss for good luck from a beloved guest.

Charlie and his groomsmen prep for the wedding. Don’t they look like a bunch of movie stars? Move over Clooney, I’ve discovered the new cast for Ocean’s 14.

Lovely bridesmaids chose their own black and white dresses and carried seasonal autumnal bouquets in rich colors.

I just love this breathtaking, minimalist ceremony setup. With such beautiful scenery, decorations would only be a distraction. Rachel and Charles played it right with a dramatic petal-strewn aisle, a nature-inspired arch, and little else.

Nature-inspired touches like found stone namecards on a bed of grass add to the easy warmth of the celebration.

This looks like a party I’d want to be invited to! Can’t you just feel the crisp mountain air, and the joyful spirit surrounding the whole event?

The cake, by Sweet Lady Jane in Los Angeles, was decorated with Fall leaves and seasonal blossoms. A dessert table features a spread of local fruits and sweets, and a flower arrangement that incorporates wild branches.
