You may have heard of Annie Leonard’s The Story of Stuff, a 20-minute video about consumerism in American society that explores the hidden environmental and social consequences our love affair with its stuff. The Story of Stuff went viral online, and has now been viewed over 10 million times on-line and in thousands of schools, houses of worship, community centers and businesses around the world.

Now Annie Leonard brings us The Story of Cosmetics. It’s a quick watch and a great introduction to learning about the potentially harmful effects of personal care products. I think it’s especially important for engaged women and newlyweds to be aware of these issues, as we prepare to have our own families and make choices about the products they use.
